About the Speaker
Speaker: Prof. Biman Mandal (IIT Guwahati)
Prof. Biman Mandal is a Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, School of Health Science and Engineering, and the Centre for Nanotechnology at IIT Guwahati. He has made significant contributions in Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering, and 3D Organ Bioprinting. He is listed among the “75 under 50 Scientists shaping today’s India” by the Government of India and is part of Stanford University’s “World Top 2% Scientist List”.
He has published over 210 research articles with more than 13,800 citations, holding an H-index of 66. He has 23 patents and has licensed three healthcare technologies to the industry, with one product already available in the market.
Prof. Mandal has been awarded the Young Scientist Awards from the Indian National Academy of Sciences (INSA) and the National Academy of Sciences India (NASI). Recently, he received the “SWARNAJAYANTI Fellowship” and the “S. RAMACHANDRAN National Bioscience Award” for 2020-2021.
He has delivered over 200 invited talks at prestigious institutions worldwide, including Justus Liebig University (Germany), NTU (Singapore), and MIT (USA), shaping the future of bioprinting, regenerative medicine, and in vitro tissue models.
