Speaker Profile: A Leading Expert in Regenerative Medicine and Biofabrication
Prof. Tim Woodfield (University of Otago, New Zealand)
Prof. Tim Woodfield is a Professor of Regenerative Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Otago, New Zealand. He also serves as Director of the CReaTE Group (Centre for Bioengineering & Nanomedicine), leading research focused on light-based biofabrication for advanced healthcare technologies.
His key research areas include the development of photo-curable bioinks and bioresins, 3D bioprinting, spheroid bioassembly, and additive manufacturing of medical devices—especially for translational applications in regenerative medicine.
He has authored over 150 publications (H-index: 51), secured more than NZ$28 million in research funding, and received numerous awards. He currently serves as President of the International Society for Biofabrication and is a board member of several journals including Biofabrication.
