Congress Overview
The Annual Congress of the Japan Society for Transplantation is one of Japan’s major academic meetings devoted to transplantation medicine. It provides a forum for multidisciplinary discussion of fundamental research, clinical medicine, social systems, ethics, and support for patients and families in the fields of organ, tissue, and cell transplantation.
The 62nd Congress will be the third meeting hosted by Tokyo Medical University, following the 27th Congress in 1991 and the 50th Congress in 2014. The Department of Gastroenterological and Transplant Surgery is preparing the meeting in collaboration with the Kidney Disease Center, Emergency and Critical Care Center, Transplant Support Office, Clinical Laboratory Department, Pharmacy Department, and other teams involved in transplantation medicine.
In the Congress President’s message, the meeting is described as an opportunity for everyone involved in transplantation medicine—including transplant professionals, emergency physicians supporting organ donation, and donor coordinators—to share and pass on the meaning, professional pride, and appeal they find in this field.
The academic program, networking events, and other congress activities are expected to be concentrated within Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo to minimize the need for participants to travel outside the venue.
